Last Week

Last week, we stayed in a small self catering cottage in Pendeen, Cornwall. It was the same place we stayed last time we went down there. It was a really nice trip. I love Cornwall. I always enjoy it, regardless of weather conditions. There is great food, wild scenery, and the cottage is always very cozy.

I must admit that I didn’t get much writing or carving done while we were there, but I did take quite a lot of photos. I did start carving a small duck while we were there, but that activity was cut short by a nasty burn I got from the wood stove. I’ll hopefully start working on it again here in a few days.

We went on 2 hikes while we were there. One of them was pretty short. We just walked down to Portheras Cove, which was fairly near to the cottage in which we were staying. The other hike was much longer. We walked from Cape Cornwall to Engine House, and we stopped on the way and ate our Cornish Pasties on some grass overlooking the sea. It was a great hike. It was very beautiful.

Overall, we didn’t do much aside from walk and eat delicious food, but it was a great trip. It was very relaxing and it was nice to spend time with Steph. Anyway, we’re doing comics again and I just wanted to let everyone know how last week went. I will hopefully have some woodcarving stuff to post sometime soon.

I wish I had a pasty and some Cornish ice cream. Anyway, I have to go for tonight. I shall return.

This Weekend

Ah, another entirely too short weekend is almost over. I hope everyone who chooses to celebrate Easter had a pleasant one. The weekend seemed so short, and we accomplished very little other than playing games and eating food. You may have noticed that we haven’t done comics this weekend. I don’t know for sure whether that will always be the case, but Steph didn’t have her regular illustration setup, so that was one barrier.

We’re going on vacation to Cornwall during the next upcoming week, so we’re not sure if we’ll have a comic for those days. Maybe we could make some ahead of time and post double this week. We’ll see what happens. I don’t know if I want to make Steph do that much drawing. I know I want to get some woodcarving and some reading done in the evenings while we’re there. I’m so excited to go…I love Cornwall and I’ll be so glad to be away from work.

Other than that, there isn’t much to say. I’m off to bed soon and I hope everyone has a nice day/night.

Wooden Cat

So I finally finished carving the cat. I had to sharpen my tools a bit more, but now they are working quite well. The wooden cat pictures are below. I haven’t decided whether I’ll paint the cat or just leave it as it is.

Today

So I didn’t get to work on any woodcarving today, but we did try out our bikes. We also went to Bibury and I got a few photos there which I will post below:

We also worked a lot on getting various sections of our new web comic site, HandRooster. We still have a lot to do on the website, but at least it is up. We only have the 2 comics on there right now, but I’ve given Steph a bunch of content to illustrate so whenever she has time, she’ll be working on it. Hopefully I’ll have time to carve some wood tomorrow!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow we’re going to go for a ride on our new bikes. I think I’ll bring along my camera just in case I see some nice scenes for photos. If I get some good ones I’ll probably post them tomorrow evening. I also want to get working on my cat carving tomorrow night. Maybe I can make some decent progress…as long as my tools are sharp enough. Anyway, I think it’s about time to to go bed. I’m quite sleepy. I hope everyone is doing well.
