Introduction
Riding the Wind is a website dedicated to the writing, poetry, photography, opinions and daily life of Me. By Me, I mean Mike Adams, the writer of the semi-kinda-not really famous webcomic, HandRooster. I actually did very little work, as the illustrations were all done by my wife, Steph. These days, I use my initials for my writing. That’s where the occasional reference to M.J. Adams comes from, so please don’t be confused. I am still Me.

Me
Oh, you want to know more about me, do you? Very well, then. I shall oblige you.

M.J. Adams Professional
I’m a 29 year old freelance writer and IT specialist originally from Washington state in the USA but now residing near Norwich, England. Though fairly new to freelance writing, I’ve been spending a lot of my free time toward that end for many years and did a lot of technical writing during my 8 year IT career within the United States Air Force. My technical knowledge is strong and though I prefer to work in more creative projects such as poetry and creative writing, I am still more than willing to take on jobs for technical writing or IT.

Personal
I’m just a guy who enjoys writing, poetry, wood carving/sculpture, books, photography, philosophy/religion/spirituality, food, coffee and tea. I’m an American living in England with my English wife and our 2 English cats. I separated from the US Military in December 2007 with an honorable discharge because of personal convictions against the war. I believe that our world is one of interdependence and that only actions of peace can achieve a greater good. I also believe that we must endeavor at all times to be mindful of the greater effects we have on the world and its people.

Riding the Wind?!
Oh yeah – that’s from the Book of Lieh Tzu (Liezi) if you’re into Taoist (Daoist) philosophy at all. I am.
