Yeah, so I said I would do a post on my progress in planetside. Well, here it goes.
My main character (or what used to be my main character) hasn't been played much. He's level 10, and just picked up hacking. I get frustrated with him because in large battles I have to get fairly close to the action to get kills, and the lag kills me on my current connection. Crossfire kills me since I have poor armor, turrets kill me, and stupid darklight kills me, and mosquitos kill me. And just about anything else. He's great in small battles. A blast. But what I really would like is for him to have advanced hacking, and a pounder Max so I can get into spawns, and then hack into a terminal and tear people apart. I think that if I gained 4 or 5 levels on him, he'd be awesome. But, at the moment it's a little frustrating unless I'm in a squad because the kill levels are still a bit low.
I started a new character on the west coast server so I can play with Frank and Adam more often. He's pretty fun, but as of yet has no transportation. He will in another level or so, though. I like him because he snipes from a distance and for the time I've put in playing him, he's done fairly well. He kills people easier than Squibz does, and with almost as much style. What is especially rewarding, though…is when someone tries to sneak up behind me and kill me while I'm sniping, and I turn around (due to constant switching to third person mode to watch my back) and blast them with my sweeper shotgun and kill THEM. With this character, I think I only want to get a few more things. Special Assault and/or Heavy Assault, engineering (for self repair) and combat engineering (for self protection using motion alarm sensors, mines, and turrets when I'm sniping)and then I want to put everything else into vehicle certs. I think probably Ground Support, Ground Transport, and Air Support.
Anyway, so that's my progress. Not that anyone is interested.
